The campus is a diverse site, both in terms of number of buildings and also in terms of individual building specialised usage where the requirements for interfacing sophisticated scientific equipment is complex. Our Fire alarm upgrade project was a dedicated direct rolling 9 year programme that commenced in 2010. The existing system was over 20 years old and obsolete technology resulting in false alarms and unavailable spare parts. The upgrade was required to be conducted within restricted spaces and clean environments.

Fume Cupboard Solution
TriMan were tasked with designing, manufacturing and delivering a new solution for the monitoring of fume cupboards on this site. The current setup had the few switches above the ceiling tile that were grouped and monitoring the site in large groups. The new TriMan design was a neat solution whereby each fume cupboard is now individually monitored. Now with clear labelling and enclosed boxes that are accessible below ceiling, this site can control their system in a flexible and efficient way.
System changeovers in a single shift: Data centres and science procedures are vitally important operations. Any downtime of their operations must be avoided at all cost. In order the minimize disruption, all our effort was in the planning and preparation stages, allowing the team to implement the system changeover to the new Advanced Fire alarm system within a single shift.
